I have published four books of poems. My new book is An Abundance of Caution (Unbound Edition Press, 2023). Previous books are Does She Have a Name? (NYQ Books, 2014), Deniability (Orchises Press, 2009), and The Apparitioners (Three Rail Press, 2005).

Poems have appeared in a wide range of journals. Publications include Able Muse, Antioch Review, Atlanta Review, The Atlantic, Boulevard, Coachella Review, Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review, Five Points, Gettysburg Review, Hopkins Review, Kenyon Review, Nimrod, Ploughshares, Poetry, Poetry Northwest, Prairie Schooner, Redactions, Shenandoah, Southwest Review, This Broken Shore, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Yale Review. Awards include the Frederick Bock Prize from Poetry, and a fellowship from the New Jersey Council on the Arts.

I have read in a range of venues: conferences, universities, libraries, community centers, bookstores, and bars. In addition, I have spoken about book editing, publishing, and other professional issues to MFA students and writers’ conferences. Education: Duke University (B.A.) and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (M.A.). The editor in chief of St. Martin’s Press and a New Jersey native, I grew up in Madison and now live with my family in Ridgewood.
